“Pladepusheren” was, and is, a sort of a cult phenomenon in Denmark. The original shop opened in “Jernbanegade, Aalborg” in 1979, with Per Vinther as owner. There is hardly a Danish vinyl enthusiast over 30 who do not know of “biksen” as it was called in everyday speech.
For many years the former “pusher” was the only serious vinyl business in Aalborg, and before it closed it had also branched out to Brønderslev and Aarhus.
Now, over 25 years after the physical Pladepusher closed, a new record shop by the same name is opening online. The product range is different, but the love and interest for vinyl remains and this makes the old “pusher” happy.
